Mini Wand, Not-So-Mini Power

The Fairy Mini was a most welcomed surprise. It is strong and rumbly, and cute too! I can use it for many things and it is making its way up to the top of my toy box.

Use

This toy can be used both for all over the body massage and stimulation of erogenous zones. It cannot be used for penetration. I think anyone could get a use out of the Fairy Mini regardless of gender and could be used solo or in couple play. It is a very versatile toy, in my opinion. Because it is electric, it cannot be used in the bath or any similar situations. It is also extremely loud, so it would not be ideal for those who need stealth toys.

Material / Texture

The Fairy Mini is made out of plastic. The head of the toy is a semi-flexible plastic and is velvety in texture. The white part of the handle is smooth and glossy whereas the pink part is a more matte finish and helps out with gripping the toy. The plastic felt like it was of moderate to high quality, definitely not cheap. For those concerned with material safety, this is phthalates- and latex-free.

There was no smell to the toy, even straight out of the package. The head of the massager has ridges, which can be felt during use and are good for those who like texture. For those who do not, the top of the head is smooth and texture free. The neck of the head is flexible which makes comfortably reaching the ideal angle and level of pressure easy.

Design / Shape / Size

I loved the design of this toy. I have never had the Hitachi or a similar wand style toy before, and I was impressed. The handle is easy to hold, it's not too girthy for my small hands, and it is easy to operate the click wheel controls. I am a beginner to this style of toys and I am glad I went with the smaller option because of the intimidation of the bigger ones.

I also love the colors. I am a fan of stereotypically girly-girl things and the pink and white fits that bill perfectly.

The smaller size of the Fairy allowed it to be stored in my toy box (a metal Caboodles train case) along with my many other toys. Its small size makes it more discreet than its larger counterparts and it can easily be hidden in a nightstand drawer. I am not sure I would travel with this toy, as the shape is pretty iconic. However, since it is electric there will be no accidentally turning this on in the luggage (unless your suitcase has its own power source, then you're on your own).

Functions / Performance / Controls

The controls on this toy are simple: plug it in and turn the click wheel to your desired intensity. I like how you can pick the exact level you want instead of having a concrete low/medium/high type settings; I would say this is the best thing about this toy. The controls are easy to operate no matter how you are holding this toy, which is a definite plus. The vibrations are located in the head of the toy, and the vibrations do not travel well into the the handle which means no numb hands for me.

The Fairy Mini is incredibly powerful. I have never owned a toy before where I could use it through clothes and still get off. I love also that the vibrations are definitely more rumbly than buzzy, so even on the higher settings I don't get numb or start to hurt like with lower intensity buzzy toys.

All the pros aside, this toy is noisy! This was not a surprise discovery for me as I was expecting it, but it still makes it hard to use without loud music on and/or a million blankets and pillows on top of me (a la princess and the pea, except Fairy and I are the pea).

This toy is not waterproof or splash proof and I would not advise using it near any water at all.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is easy to care for, in my opinion. You cannot wash it off in water or anything like that, but it's easy to use cleaning wipes on. It could also be cleaned with rubbing alcohol. I am sure a damp cloth and antibacterial soap would work fine, too.

The wand came with a pink storage bag which is made out of a cheap feeling material. It reminded me of the material they make those brown/tan hotel blankets out of. It can be hard to fit the cord in, but the bag serves its purpose. Again, the smaller size of this toy makes it relatively easy to store.

Plastic is compatible with all types of lube, which means when giving massages you can use oil-based massage products.

Packaging

The toy came in a flimsy, pink cardboard box with a picture of the toy on it. There weren't any instructions but the toy is so simple, none were needed. The box is too flimsy to be kept for long term storage. It doesn't have anything particularly adult themed on the box, so I would feel comfortable giving it as a gift.

Experience

Personally, I ordered this toy but then as it was in transit to me got scared that it would be too strong and I couldn't use it. But thankfully, I was wrong and the vibration type was just what my body needed.
