Nothing Mini About It

This toy has been my go-too speedster for over a year. It is as consistently powerful and reliable as it was on day one and will work on anyone that requires really strong vibrations. It's not mini like the name says though, and it does need to be plugged in so it's not something to try and hide. But if power and ease of use are what you're after, this is the toy you've been looking for.

Use

This wand vibrator has a generous handful of possible uses - massage, teasing, foreplay - but when it comes down to it, this toy is a finisher. Its best use is to bring a body to climax after using another toy or a partner to become aroused or to simply go from zero to orgasm in a minute or two. It's reliably powerful and can be targeted well enough to hit the right spot when you need it to.

Just like it has many possible uses, it has many possible users: couples, singles, men, or women. But my recommendation is for solo women or women that have a hard time orgasming just from a partner or a less intense toy. It could be used at any point of the body from tense back muscles to a man's perineum to teasing nipples - but it's most valuable when applied directly to a clitoris.

The only thing this toy isn't great for are situations without a nearby outlet or playing in water.

Material / Texture

The Fairy Mini is made of plastic. The handle is plastic, the dial is plastic, the rounded head is plastic. The head is ridged on the sides but that honestly doesn't do much for me aside from make it more difficult to clean. If used with the right lubricant and on super sensitive areas, the ridges might be enjoyable for some though. The head is also made of a matte plastic, which is not as slippery as the plastic of the handle but not what I'd consider a velvet cote either - it's somewhere in between. It glides along perfectly well though, lubricated or not. The handle is pointed at both ends with a less glossy plastic over the center which makes it easier to grasp when wet, and the control dial is ridged so that you don't lose your grip on it.
    • Not porous at all
    • Smooth

Design / Shape / Size

The size of this toy shocked me. It's about ten inches long (not including the cord) and the head is a little over an inch and a half across. This surprised me since it's called a 'mini' wand but with its performance, I have no complaints at this point. If you really are looking for mini or travel-friendly or easy to hide, go elsewhere - if you're concerned with finding a powerful toy that will hold up extremely well despite its misleading name, keep reading.

Anyone can use this toy - it's extremely easy to handle. Even at ten inches long, it weighs approximately one pound and feels like less. It is easy to grip, easy to control, and because it vibrates evenly through all points of the head, easy to place where you want it.

The only flaw to the design is that the cord could be longer and it has a tendency to coil up on itself which pulls it even closer to the outlet. I keep mine plugged in near the bed but if the outlet were further away from where you like to play, it could be an issue. I can't see any reason an extension cord couldn't be used to fix that though. The cord can also be a pain when used within a couple but that's true of any corded toy.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Fairy Mini is a powerhouse. It vibrates strong and consistently and while slightly buzzier than the Hitachi, it's still got a deep growling vibration compared to most. The toy operates on a small wheel set in the handle - it doesn't have notches/clicks/levels of speed per say, it just escalates from low to high when you spin the dial - the only click is when you rotate the dial to an on or off position. The dial is extremely easy to use making for no distractions from play.

It doesn't vibrate in different patterns at all, just the one consistent vibration at different speeds. For me, the highest speed is too much. I tend to spin the dial about two thirds of the way up. The lowest speed is still higher than most toys' mid-range speed.

This toy should not be chosen by those looking for a discreet toy, as the buzzing noise it makes can be heard over a tv or stereo when on its highest speed.

On the plus side, this toy never needs batteries - it plugs in and is powered by a cord. On the downside, because of the plug-in element, it cannot be used in water.
    • Easy to use
    • Not very discreet

Care and Maintenance

The wand is made of non-porous, phthalate-free plastic, both in handle and head. The head has a slightly less glossy finish as does the body but not as soft as a velvet-cote toy.

Because it's plastic it can be cleaned with alcohol, a 10 percent bleach solution, or your favorite toy cleaner. But because it is a plug-in/corded toy, it cant' be submerged in water. It's easiest to clean with a toy wipe or alcohol wipe and the only pitfall in cleaning is that you need to be sure to get in the ridges around the lower half of the wand's head.

It can be stored in the pouch it comes in or in your toy drawer. Just be careful not to let the cord get tangled as once it coils up on itself, it never seems to want to come undone.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The wand comes in a simple cardboard box featuring the toy and not much else. Not overly cheesy but not overly detailed either. The bonus in the packaging is that it also includes a soft pink drawstring pouch for the toy, but the material was felt-like and a little scratchy so I chose not to keep it.
    • Good for storage
    • Minimal
    • Would make a nice gift
