Dona body butter - body moisturizer by System JO - review by carebear712

If only it were bigger

Much like the DONA body mist lotion that I purchased in acai, this body butter in acai scent smells to me a lot like Love Spell by Victoria's Secret. The price is a little steep for the amount you get, but at least it does a good job hydrating.
-smells great
-very hydrating, leaves skin soft
-small container
-smell doesn't last long

extremely useful review
There are a few things that are lacking for this DONA body butter that I purchased in acai scent, but overall I am still pretty happy with it.

The instructions are to apply liberally to entire body as often as needed. This body butter is pretty thick, and does not seem to soak into the skin very well, it takes a lot of effort to work it all in. Therefore I don’t see the need to apply “liberally." A little at a time until you know how much it will take for a certain area works well. It hydrates the skin well, and leaves you feeling soft and silky smooth. It smells very good when being applied, but unfortunately the aroma is not very strong once applied, and does not last very long.

I was disappointed that the container seemed so small. It comes in a plastic jar with a screw on lid and is 5oz.(143g). The good news is you only need to apply a small amount to each area. However, I still do not see this container of body butter lasting very long, especially if you apply it to your entire body, which I do. I have applied to my entire body 3 times and have used over a quarter of it. I have compared it below to a standard deck of cards.

Just like the other DONA by JO products, this lotion is aphrodisiac infused. Their products are also paraban free, cruelty free, natural and petro. deriv. free (whatever that is. I tried to google it and found nothing, then tried the DONA website which is on the bottom label, but that was not a functioning website. So if anyone has insight, please let me know!).

The label on the bottom of the container is where you find the ingredients list, which are as follows: purified water, carthamus tinctorius (safflower) oil, caprylic capric triglycerides, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, saccharide isomerate, cetearyl olivate, cetyl palmitate, sorbitan palmitate, sorbitan olivate, cannabis sativa (hemp) seed oil, beeswax, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), olea europeae (olive) fruit oil, passiflora edulis (passion fruit) seed oil, oriza sativa (rice) bran oil, euterpe oleracea (acai) pulp oil, orbignya oleifera (babassu) seed oil, maltodextrin, sodium hyaluronate, beta ensis leaf extract, vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, laminaria digitata (algae) extract, theobroma grandiflorum (cupuacu) butter, euterpe oleracea (acai) fruit powder, xanthan gum, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexyiglycerin, fragrance.
I would give it 3.5 stars, but cannot so it has to be only 3 stars for me since it is what I would consider expensive for the price.
Follow-up commentary
I just used the last of it last night, so it is time for my follow up. Like I was afraid of, it did not last long. I had taken a pause from using it except for here and there, so I only got about 8-10 total body applications. It is worth the price for sale or at a discount though. I did like the smell and the quality of the butter, I just wished the smell lasted longer and the container was bigger.

Can't believe no one has posted this yet, but "petro. deriv. free" means "petroleum derivative free." That would be things like mineral oil and petrolatum. Thanks for the review!
