Moisturizing? Yes. Amazing Smell? No.

I suppose if what you're looking for is a body butter that will really help soften your rough skin, this will work for you, but for something claiming a sexy edge, this butter didn't wow me. I like a more pronounced yummy smell in my body products, even if they are more naturally minded.

extremely useful review
I'm a huge fan of body butters and body creams. When there is an option to get something a little thicker and more substantial than just a lotion, I always choose that option. So, I've tried them all. I was pleasantly surprised to see Body Butter as an option in the Dona products, and I couldn't wait to try it out. This one contains a lot of natural oils, and seems like they have put a lot of thought into the ingredient list. It has no phthalates, no sulfates, no triclosan and is paraben free.

As for the aphrodisiac qualities of the Dona line, I don't know if I buy into that hype. To me, if something smells yummy or makes me feel sexy, that's all the aphrodisiac I need. Do think it will somehow magically put me in the mood? No. The Dona Body Butter I chose is the Camu Camu scent, and I'm not a huge fan. It smells more like an unscented lotion to me, with a generic waxy scent, and is reminiscent of a very light cocoa butter smell. The smell certainly doesn't make me feel sexy, or make me feel that I will somehow attract men to me. It smells like any normal drugstore lotion that isn't intended to be appealingly scented. That being said, it isn't a bad smell necessarily. It just isn't a smell that makes you stand up and take notice.

Ok, so the smell isn't anything to write home about, but the body butter does moisturize like a champ. It's a great before bed moisturizer, and is great for day use as well. It leaves my skin soft and smooth, with no oiliness or stickiness. The moisture lasts a long time, and on mornings where I apply it, my skin still feels healthy and moisturized in the evenings. It's especially effective on elbows and knees, or anywhere you have rougher skin.

The body butter itself is very thick, and the container can be held upside down with no movement of the butter inside. The color seems to vary with the smell, but the Camu Camu that I have is pure white. I'd say the container, which is a shallow disc with a screw off lid, is a smart design, as you can reach in and scoop out what you'd like. It holds 5 oz. of body butter. The container seems sturdy and well made, and the lid screws on tightly with no chance that it will leak or drip. I've dropped it on occasion and have had no issues with the plastic cracking.

Thank you for the informative review. I have stayed away from the Dona line because of reviews like yours; some of the stuff just sounds overhyped and overpriced.

Thanks for reading! Yes, I agree that the other reviews weren't great...but I was too curious to resist... I suppose at the very least it moisturizes and isn't a total loss.
