Dona body butter - body moisturizer discontinued by System JO - review by TheSinDoll

System JO has produced an aphrodisiac-infused bath and body product line called Dona. The products they've created are meant to appeal to those who wish to indulge themselves in exotic aromas and sensual skin care. In addition to each individual product's ability to deliver superior quality, the company also boasts the effects of a layering technique. One of the foundations of the layering technique is the Body Butter.

Dona's Body Butter is far more than any average lotion. In this 5 ounce jar is an intense moisturizer for those who suffer from extremely dry cracked feet, heels, ashy elbows or knees. If the winter months leave you chapped or the back of your hands feel or look older than they should, then I would suggest this product to you.

With this creamy Body Butter, a little goes a long way. Take only a tiny dab from the jar and apply to the driest part of your skin. The Body Butter is thicker than an average lotion. It feels amazing to rub it in, alleviating the aches and pains caused by dry skin.

The Dona products come in six different scents: Pomegranate, Acai, Goji berry, Blue lotus, Mangosteen, and the one that I chose, Camu Camu. I've reviewed a few other Dona products and Camu Camu is my favorite scent. It smells like a mixture of vanilla and the beach. That's really the best way that I can describe it. It's not a strong aroma, but to me, a perfect summer scent.

The aroma of the Body Butter seems to settle into the skin. It does last for about 6 hours, but that's with me lifting my hand to my nose. I was unable to smell it from any distance.

As I said before, the Dona products can stand alone or as part of their layering technique. If you were to layer more than one of the Dona products with the same scent, it would be increasingly more noticeable.

After having absorbed nicely into my skin, Dona's Body Butter kept me moisturized all night and into my shower the next morning. When I woke up, my skin felt soft and natural. I felt the butter washing away easily with the water from my shower. I was pleasantly surprised at the length of time that it had lasted. It had locked moisture into my skin but washing it away was no problem at all!

Dona's Facebook Page further explains that their products are designed to be used in a series of steps in order to obtain the full potential of the product line. Dona's intention is not only to create products that clean, hydrate and moisturize your body, but also allow you to heighten your sensuality. Dona has done that with products that are natural, ecofriendly, paraben-free, and without harsh chemicals.

DONA's ritual contains five separate steps
1. relax
2. cleanse
3. nourish
4. illuminate
5. engage

I'm really enjoying using this product. It's not a regular lotion and can't be used as such. It is only meant to moisturize the driest of skin. I can only use it on parts of my body that really need it, but it works wonders on those parts!

This Body Butter is too heavy for me to use all over my body. My skin type just isn't that dry. In the winter months, it will help wonderfully, but since it's Spring/Summer, I just don't need something this thick. I decided to apply this butter to the parts of my body that aren't necessarily rough, but that I would love to make softer.

I use it specifically on my elbows, knees, and my hands at night - before bed.

Although it's really too thick for a massage, I have talked my loving husband into a few foot rubs with it before bed and my feet have seen a huge benefit from it. It's great when you're trying to make a pedicure last!
