What's a mangosteen? I don't know but it sure smells good!

If your dry skin needs a serious drink of moisture, try the Dona body butter. It goes on smooth, softens up those dry patches, and smells great. It is also aphrodisiac infused so it may just attract the opposite sex. If nothing else, they will think you smell divine.

Use

Dona Body Butter is part of an aphrodisiac infused ritual of spa like body products by System Jo. It is used to moisturize and soften dry, rough skin making it feel soft and rejuvenated. It is best used when just getting out of the tub or shower to help lock in the moisture, but it can be used at anytime of the day or night. Just spread it on and enjoy when you feel the need.

The jar is not sealed in any way when you first receive it. It is good for 24 months after first opening it. Just a note that the website advertised on the jar (DONAbyJO) actually leads nowhere.

The ingredients as listed on the container and here are: Purified Water, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oil, Caprylic Capric Triglycerides, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Saccharide Isomerate, Cetearyl Olivate, Cetyl Palmitate, Sorbitan Palmitate, Sorbitan Olivate, Cannabis Sativa )hemp) Seed Oil, Beeswax, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Olea Europeae (Olive) Fruit Oil, Passiflora Edulis (Passion Fruit) Seed Oil, Oriza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) pulp Oil, Orbignya Oleifera (Babassu) Seed Oil, Maltodextrin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Beta Glucan, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Allantoin, Aloe Barbadensis leaf Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) seed oil, Laminaria Digitata (Algae) Extract, Theobroma graniflorum (Cupuacu) Butter, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

For a body butter, it is a bit thin. I have had butters in the past that are almost as thick as soft margarine. This one is like a thick hand lotion. It does move about in the container so you will want to make sure it is closed tightly if you are traveling with it.

It goes on smooth but a little greasy. It takes a few minutes for it to absorb into the skin fully. Once it does, it leaves behind nothing but soft skin. There are little brown specks in the butter that remind me of the vanilla specks you see in natural vanilla ice cream, but these are not anything you can feel on the skin.

A little does go a long way, so the 5oz (143g) container should last quite some time.

Taste / Aroma

The Dona butter comes in 6 different scents. For this particular review, we are looking at the Mangosteen scent. Now, to be honest I don't know what a mangosteen should smell like but I can tell you that the fragrance is light, sweet, and fresh. You really have to bring your nose fairly close to the container to smell it fully. Once applied, it does get a little stronger but nothing that is very overpowering.

The scent reminds me of a fruity cocktail. Almost like melon and berries with a citrus kick. It is quite nice to smell and will not get annoying fast like some creams out there. The scent lasts about half an hour before it starts to go away. After an hour it cannot be smelled on the skin at all.

Performance

This stuff is lovely. It is not heavy on the skin at all. As mentioned, it does start out a little on the greasy side, but the skin soaks it up very nicely in no time flat. After that, you are left with velvety smooth skin for hours on end.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting

Great information! I'm gald to hear that it doesn't take hours to absorb. I hate a greasy feel that lasts all day...
