The Interns by New Sensations - review by Midway through

The intro looked promising. It actually had beginning credits similar to a movie about fashion. Very well designed and aesthetically pleasing. The scenes all have a professional and very aesthetically pleasing look to them. There is plenty of lighting in every scene, and it has the appeal of the entire DVD feeling very high quality in terms of lighting and scenery. The outfits and lingerie that all the girls wear are absolutely beautiful. It is very much designed to be eye candy for girls. It does a decent job at this, but not 100%.

Scene One
Avy and Samantha are discussing a magazine spread and fall collection. Samantha is trying to convince Avy to feature the fall collection with her magazine and offers several pages of spread to convince her. Plot-wise, that's about it in this scene. Avy walks off to grab sketches and Samantha "accidently" spills wine on herself and takes her clothes off. Commence the sex! I was excited about this scene. They do some making out and foreplay. Sad part is, the girls only end up rubbing all over each other and kissing. There's oral as well, but I was disappointed that there were no dildos, strap-ons, or any toys used. Where're the vibrators?! These two girls actually seem to be enjoying themselves though, and regardless of the lack of toys, I was fairly interested. The scene was long, but they kept the variety up so it was worth it to me.

Scene Two
Julia is in a meeting with her employees and talking down to them. Julia points out that Samantha secured their fall collection from Avy. The two interns that were talked down to at the meeting decide to call a model and pretend they are Zoe and lie to the model about getting a spread if she will shoot with them. It is an attempt to get the other intern fired.

Later on, Charlie and Sara are doing a photoshoot together with Michelle taking pictures. Michelle compliments the girls and hits on Charlie. Charlie says she only did the shoot because she's getting the cover. Michelle calls her naive and says that only she picks the covers. Charlie gets upset and walks off, but then decides to bribe her to get her cover by having a threesome with Sara and Michelle. Charlie and Sara start off together, later joined by Michelle. Michelle seems to direct them here and is controlling the entire sex scene. It is the character she is played as, but I didn't enjoy it. Therefore, this scene was a complete turnoff to me. There is oral, rubbing, and kissing between the three girls.

Scene Three
Samantha and Julia are in her office, and Julia explains that in order to be promoted she needs to handle confidential matters. Samantha says she can do that. Julia wants Samantha to teach her to be sexy to her husband again, because she feels she has lost the ability to be sexy. Samantha agrees, and tells her that she makes herself feel sexy, that's how she makes herself appear that way. Samantha wants Julia to try the new line out to make her feel sexy. Samantha tells her she is sexy and that she should be dominate in the bedroom like she does at work, then offers to have her practice on her. They do a little dominance play with Julia telling Sam what to do. Things get heated and they have sex.

Scene Four
Allie and Zoe gossip in the bathroom about Samantha and Julia. Julia overhears the conversation, and is upset. Zoe mentions that Samantha always does this and sues the company. Julia seems nervous. The scene changes and Zoe says she lied about everything and that the real Julia was there; Allie feels bad about lying, so Zoe and Allie have sex. The movie is starting to get typical at this point; the scenes are repetitive with kissing, rubbing, and oral. There is a lot of foreplay and touching, but still no toys and no true variety other than the threesome scene.

Scene Five
Julia visits Zoe, and tells her that she will allow her to have the promotion instead of Sam if she supports her if legal problems come up. Zoe wants her own office, a bigger promotion, and to be the escort to all major parties. Zoe wants to know what Julia did with Sam. They have sex, Zoe is the more dominant one in this scene, and it becomes another typical sex scene.

Later, Sam is packing her stuff up to leave her office and makes a phone call. It appears to be a sick lover, and she says she will be able to pay everything off soon, and she will do whatever it takes to get them better off.

Experience
My main complaint was that some of the characters attitudes in the plot portion of the DVD were hateful and I couldn't stand them. That was a personal preference on the actual character, I am not saying that I disliked the actual porn star herself. I just disliked the attitude of the character she played as. I was not a fan of the domineering character Michelle played. Nor did I like Zoe's character.

That aside, I really had trouble getting attached to the characters. I felt sorry for Julia and Samantha once the plot really thickened. Especially sorry for Samantha and her lover at the end. And as much as I didn't like Julia's character for the way she acted at the office, I did feel bad that Zoe deceived her.

I feel that they had everything setup for a great porno, it just fell short. The audio is my first complaint. It swapped between being overly loud (credits) and then scenes where it was loud, then suddenly quiet. I think the audio could have been more balanced through out the movie so that I didn't have to keep turning it down and then up again. Another complaint was lack of variety and length of scenes. I felt that the scenes were long and repetitive. No toys used, just a lot of rubbing and kissing and oral sex. I felt disappointed in this because there was so much more potential that this could have had.

There's not a whole lot to say about this one. I tried to give it another go, put it in the DVD player and watched again, but the audio was ridiculously loud and then ridiculously quiet, and I hardly made it through the first scene before I picked a Digital Playground movie that I knew I would enjoy more. I just don't think me and the Interns will ever get along.
