The Interns by New Sensations - review by danellejohns

What would you do to get to the top of the business world? In the movie The Interns, that is exactly what we find out. This production from New Sensations follows how far some women will go to achieve advancement and recognition within the fashion magazine world.

I liked how this movie eventually showed each woman's motive to get to the top, whether it be greed or life circumstance. This movie showed how one's circumstances plays a big part in the choices we make.

Now, don't get me wrong, this is still a full length lesbian porn film. I just thought I would share the underlying feeling I got from the film, even though the description of the plot doesn't convey this, either.

The plot to the movie, The Interns, is simple in nature. The Editor in Chief of the magazine creates a competitive situation where women plan and sabotage each other to achieve advancement. The women then go about backstabbing and plotting the demise of each others' careers.

The movie does portray this plot throughout its entirety, but at times it gets lost within the scenes. The scenes themselves were well filmed. I didn't notice any lighting issues, although the sound was a bit off at times. At some points (usually during dialogue scenes), it was so soft I had to turn it up, only to get to the sex scenes and have it blaring through the speakers. The actresses seemed comfortable in the sex scenes, and most of the dialogue was fluent and did not have that "forced" quality.

The scenes that carry the movie plot along were short compared to the five sex scenes. I was surprised at the fact that there was not much variety in the sex scenes. For the most part they were the same, except for one scene in which it was a threesome. The repetitiveness seemed to take away from the last three sex scenes because you felt like you had already seen it. There was no introduction of any toys. That was surprising to me because it would have added so much more variety to the scenes.

The character development was lacking when attempting to help the storyline along. I did, however, like how the chemistry seemed to be present between each of the characters. You could not tell if it was just acting because they seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The wardrobe chosen for them was not over the top, which was a bonus. The only scene which involved lingerie being worn was appropriate for the fact they were at a photo shoot.

The actresses starring in the film included Samantha Ryan, Julia Ann, Zoe Britton, Allie Haze, Avy Scott, Michelle Lay, Charlie Laine, Zoe Voss, Violet Monroe, and Sara Stone. The film was directed by Chloe Sampson and Eddie Powell.

Overall, this film was good for a porn, especially if you are not accustomed to lesbian porn (which I am not - this being my first). There are no major flaws in the film, but I wish the plot would have been more clear. I am not one that wants to go and ruin the film by describing each scene and what not. The scenes themselves were a little too long for me and took away from the film.

My husband watched most of the film with me and generally came to the same conclusions as I did. He had never seen a lesbian porn film, either. He was disappointed in the lack of variety that it had. He did like the fact that the women looked "real." I have to agree. It is refreshing to see normal looking woman in the film, especially when it does deal with the fashion industry.

We both believe that the original idea was good, but that following through with the plot could have added so much more to the film. I think that for an introduction to lesbian porn, this would be a great start.
