The Interns by New Sensations - review by Kayla

"The Interns" is a one-disk movie of all lesbian-scenes produced by New Sensations. The movie is about an hour and a half in length, and it features five different sex scenes. The director is Chloe Sampson and Eddie Powell. The main stars are Samantha Ryan, Julia Ann, Zoe Britton, Allie Haze, Avy Scott, Michelle Charlie Laine, and Sara Stone. The picture itself looks really great, but I was actually disappointed with the sound. The sound ends up too soft in some scenes, surprisingly loud during some of the sex, and too soft during some dialogue; it can get frustrating at some points. The movie was actually directed and shot to be a good option for New Sensation's lesbian audience; it was not shot mostly for male-viewing.

The plot of this movie is well-developed (for a porn), but at the same time, it also was not sexy in the slightest. The story itself was actually a turn-off. The story is basically following the interns of a fashion magazine while they all try to do their best to make a promotion. This includes a lot of back-throat stabbing, sleeping with clients, and lieing about all of it. The sex scenes are sexy, but when they are interspersed with five minutes of bitchiness, it's just doesn't stay as a turn-on.

I'm not someone that believes that lesbians always use sex toys, but at the same time, after 120 minutes of people doing the exact same thing, you can bet that I was definitely getting a bit tired of the bumping and grinding that they were doing. There's a lot of oral sex, a lot of fingering, and a lot of grinding and scissoring. It's really sexy for the first two scenes, but after you've watched those first two, unless you have a fetish for any of those activities, it gets to be old pretty quickly. I wish they would have found some toys or something like that. However, at the same time, it does have some Domination and submission aspects to it once in awhile (that tends to go out of the window once the sex starts).

The scenes do end up getting a bit long (more than a bit, really). At times, they just end up kissing, and you think the scene is done, but then they just right back into everything. The scenes do get pretty long; the plot itself only counts for 20 minutes of the movie, so everything else is pure lesbian sex. If you really enjoy watching sex scenes and enjoying this (which is the point?), I'd probably recommend watching the sex scenes more spread out than the full movie at once.

While it's not completely related, I wish there was a more obvious way to tell if the females were orgasming. With guys, it's pretty obvious, but I'm someone who really likes that final sign that someone is having an orgasm. When it comes down to the lesbian sex of this movie, maybe something along the lines of saying "I'm cumming" or something like that would have worked. In a couple places, they did do that, but it wasn't too prevalent throughout the movie. The women did, however, really seem to be enjoying the sex itself, and it looks like most of the characters really had great chemistry with one another and enjoyed the scenes. It's great to see a porn that focuses really well on a female's sexual enjoyment. On this same thread, I'm impressed because the movie does spend time showing the pleasure of the characters; it isn't like a "5 minutes of oral sex-insta-orgasm!" thing either. I just wish what they did shoot would have included more variety.

A good aspect of the porn is actually the lingerie. Almost all of the characters end up wearing some pretty sexy underwear. There are garter belts, sexy bras and panties, and lots of neat, well-presented outfits as well. (Probably because this is supposed to be a fashion magazine.) I did enjoy the variety of body types though. All of the girls has natural breasts (I think), and not all of them were extremely skinny either. A lot of them had healthier bodies that tend to be absent from most porns.

The sex scenes, since they all pretty much followed the same format, will just be listed by who is in them: 1) Avy Scott/Samantha Ryan 2) Sara Stone/Charlie Laine/Michelle Lay 3) Julia Ann/Samantha Ryan 4) Zoe Britton/Allie Haze 5) Zoe Britton/Julia Ann. One threesome, mostly twosomes. It was actually amusing that there was not one guy in the entire movie - not even in a non-sex setting. I hate to admit it, but I had a hard time following the characters as well. I loved their sexy lingerie, but the actresses look a bit alike and they also changed clothes a *lot*, so I really had a hard time telling what was going on at times. Even on the second viewing, I was still confused about some people in some scenes.

Special features include a photo gallery, the web trailer, trailers for other New Sensations movies, the company information, a dialog feature (the movie without any of the sex), and a bonus sex scene that includes use of toys. (The bonus scene is from Ashlynn Brooke's Lesbian Fantasies and features Franziska Facella and Ashlynn Brooke.)

Overall? It's not a bad porn, but you might find yourself fast forwarding through the second half of most of the scenes which defeats the purpose of a porn. At the same time, the plot of this porn (which is supposed to be more directed towards female viewers), paints females in a bad light which is unarousing as well. It does have sexy sex scenes, though, and in a market full of lesbian porn marketed only towards men, this movie does a good job of attempting to appeal to a female audience.
