Hmmmm-uma Not Sure.

Uma would be great for a good number of people depending on your anatomy. This toy has both relatively strong and a variety of vibrations to suit you mood, and a nice curve to help you locate your G-Spot. I was slightly disappointed because, for me at least, this is not 5 vroom toy. I don't regret spending the money, but this toy will not be an automatic go-to for me.

extremely useful review

Uma, by Je Joue, is a luxury silicone vibrator with quite strong vibrations, and is designed with the purpose of targeting and stimulating your G-Spot. It is clearly intended for vaginal insertion, but also works great externally as an all-over massager. I found that Uma was great at teasing my clitoris, nipples, and stimulating my vulva, getting me ready for penetrative play. Its vibes turn me on. Uma's relatively straight design works great for thrusting solo or during partner play. This toy is a great dildo-esque vibrator that is great to explore your anatomy with. It works well for learning which angles and positions you prefer. I personally would not recommend this toy for anal use.

Material / Texture

Uma is a firm toy that is completely covered in pure silicone. The pros are that the silicone is high quality, velvety, non porous, has no distinctive odor, has a smooth texture, and has minimal drag. The cons is that I've noticed that hair (human and pet) is easily attracted and sticks to the silicone. Additionally, while the silicone is seamless, I could notice a faint ridge indicating that the plastic underneath had a seam. This, at least for me, does not detract from the toy, it is just an observation.
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

Uma is a nonrealistic, simple, yet well designed, penetrative vibrator. Firstly, it's very light weight weighing in at 0.75 lbs. I would not, however, consider Uma petite. The toy is 7" in length with 4" being insertable. The toy at its widest point is 4 1/2" in circumference. The insertable end of Uma is only slightly curved, and is bulged and blunt in order to target the G-Spot. The bulge is slightly bigger than that of the G-Ki. Uma tapers down slowly but significantly in the middle. Overall, this toy is filling and enjoyable. The shaft of Uma is long enough that makes handling and thrusting easy.

Uma is sleek and minimalistic, but looks like a vibrator. She is easy to hide but is not a toy that I would carry around in my everyday bag; it's too big!

I believe that both beginners and advanced users can and will appreciate this toy.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Umas controls are located on the very bottom of the toy and consists of three buttons; +, -, and ~. The ~ controls the vibration patterns of which there are seven, which is a full variety to suit any mood. The + increases vibration strength while the - decreases strength. Before I purchased this toy I was wary of the controls, as many other reviews considered them hard to use. I personally found the controls easy to use. Yes, you really have to really press down the buttons, but I prefer that because I don't accidentally mess up my settings during the moment.

Uma Controls

Umas vibrations are targeted towards the G-spot end of the toy and are quite strong, but I wouldn't consider them earth-shattering. I found the vibrations quite rumbly at low speeds (reminds me of a quiet washer or dryer vibrating) but this rumble decreases as you increase the strength of the vibrations. While the strongest vibration is 'strong,' it is not deep and fails to spread throughout the toy or the targeted area. Personally, the vibrations were too shallow and buzzy for my taste. Noise wise, I'd give Uma 2 bees; it's still quiet enough to use in a dorm room with thin walls.

What I most appreciate about Uma is that she is completely waterproof and performs just as well in water as out of water. This toy might become my shower companion.
    • Discreet sound
    • Lots of variety in function
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

Uma is relatively easy to care for. To charge Uma, all you have to do is plug in the charger and attach it to the bottom of the toy through the magnetic 'port'. When the toy is charging, the Je Joue heart logo lights up and flashes red. The light stays constant when charging is complete. Two hours of charging yields approximately 2 hours of fun. Note, I have found the charger to be slightly finicky. The light has indicated to me two separate times that Uma was completely charged when in fact she was not and I ran out of juice during play.

Due to being both silicone and waterproof, I usually clean Uma with a mild soap and warm water in the sink, though antibacterial toy fluid or a wipe would suffice. I would not recommend boiling this toy; there are mechanical and plastic components. I then dry her off with a clean towel and store her in the box that Je Joue packaged her in. Ideally, I'd like to store Uma in a satin pouch but unlike other companies, Je Joue does not provide one in the packaging.

As a silicone toy, remember that generally only a water-based lubricant is compatible and it is a good idea to store Uma alone, avoiding contact with other silicone toys.

Je Joue raises the standards in the packaging department. The packaging is sleek and, for the most part (besides the outer sleeve,) is discrete. The outer sleeve of the box shows a picture of the toy:

Uma Box Side

Once this sleeve is removed, an elegant yet sturdy black cardboard box is revealed which functions as a storage box. Within this box is Uma.
Note that there is a separate compartment in the box (to the left) to store the charger.

The contents of the box is Uma, Uma's charger, and a user manual:Box Contents

Although I'm one who usually throws away boxes, I kept this one and use it for storage.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage
    • Minimal

Personal comments

Although I generally like this toy, I was not able to make myself come with Uma. Something is just up with the type of vibrations. I cannot describe it, but they just didn't work for me. While this at first disappointed me, I now realize that this factor does not completely detract from the toy. I've learned that paring Uma up with the right clitoral vibrator makes for fun times.
Follow-up commentary
Still overall a good vibe, but it just doesn't 'click' with me. I tend to gravitate towards my other toys, ones that I know can get the job done. It does make a decent back massager though.

If Uma was to break, I would not be replacing her.
