Use

Uma is a rechargeable, g-spot vibrator, made by Je Joue, that has enough power to satisfy almost anyone. The size and shape make it easy for most women to focus in on their g-spots. It has an average thickness and a shorter than average insertable length, so it won't provide a full or stretched feeling for most users, and it may not be able to reach the deepest, most tucked away g-spots.

Uma can also be used to stimulate the clitoris for those who prefer a broader surface. It works well during partner sex in certain positions, and the added length of the toy makes it easier for me to reach my clit during doggy style sex.

Uma is completely waterproof, so it can be used anywhere you feel comfortable - in or out of the water. This vibrator can be a little loud at times, and may be heard through a door, so it might not be the best choice for those who live with others and need absolute discretion.

Material / Texture

Uma is made from silicone, so it is non-porous, hypoallergenic, phthalate free, and has no odour. The toy has a hard interior, covered by a thin layer of silicone, so it has no give and can provide the firm pressure that many women prefer when it comes to g-spot toys. The silicone has a silky soft, matte surface which has little drag and feels very nice when rubbed against the skin. The toy is completely smooth, with no noticeable seams and no texture.

Design / Shape / Size

The design is simple, attractive, and very classy looking. It's not discreet enough that I'd leave it lying around the house, but I definitely wouldn't be embarassed to pull it out with a partner.

Uma has a bulged, curved tip that is designed to stimulate the g-spot. I am able to get some good g-spot stimulation with Uma, and I find it works best with short thrusts. I can't get as much intense pressure as I can with some other g-spot toys, like the Pure Wand or Bent Graduate, but Uma is still very pleasurable, and the added vibrations help make up for the lack of pressure. The curve may not be deep enough for women whose g-spots are really tucked up into the upper wall of the vagina, but if most other g-spot toys can do the job for you, or your g-spot can be reached with fingers, Uma should work for you.

The tip is slightly taller than it is wide, and measures 4 1/2 inches around. After this, the shaft narrows, so it won't provide a stretching sensation to the opening of the vagina. The base is broad and flat, which makes it easy to hold the toy and thrust or apply pressure to the desired area.

The whole thing is 7 inches long, and the insertable length is 4 inches, which should work well for most g-spots, since the average g-spot is located 1-2 inches inside the vagina. It's a bit large to toss into a purse, but if you're traveling with a suitcase, it would be easy to bring along. Uma feels surprisingly light for its size.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Uma's controls are easy to figure out if you've used other toys with buttons, but if not, you'll want to read the manual first. Uma is operated by three buttons, located on the base of the toy. Two of them are metal, and these also act as the charging contacts. These are marked with plus and minus symbols, and are used to turn the toy on and off, and control the five power settings. In between these is a plastic button that cycles through the seven patterns, which are made up of various speeds of pulsing and escalating. Unlike many other toys, you are able to adjust the power level of each pattern.

The buttons are pretty small, and they take some force to press, which may bother some people. They are not the easiest to change during use, and you will probably need to stop to look at the controls. I always just crank my toys up to the highest, constant setting and leave them there, so it isn't much of an issue for me. The controls can't be locked, but it is unlikely that they would be accidentally bumped during storage or travel.

Uma is nice and strong, with deep, rumbly vibrations. It's on the high end of four vrooms, or the low fives and will satisfy most power queens, although it won't be enough for those who need Hitachi-like power. It's definitely stronger than most other rechargeable toys, such as those from Lelo. It is similar in power to Je Joue's clit vibrator MiMi, and may be slightly stronger. The vibrations seems to be based in the tip, which is perfect because they are strongest right where you want them, but they also travel quite well throughout the toy. They do carry into the hands, which some people may find annoying. The vibrations are pretty quiet relative to the amount of power, but may still be heard outside of a thin door on the highest setting. I've noticed that my Uma makes a rattling sound and becomes a bit louder when held vertically, but since I don't use it held in that position, it hasn't been a problem.

Uma recharges by connecting its charger magnetically to the buttons/contacts. Unlike Fun Factory's similar Click N Charge system, I haven't had any issues with the charger staying attached to the toy. Since there is no open port, there's nowhere for water to get inside, making Uma totally waterproof. When the charger is connected, a red light beneath Uma's silicone will flash until the toy is charged, then glow steadily to let you know the charge is complete. A full charge takes about 2 hours, and also gives you about 2 hours of use.

Care and Maintenance

Because it is waterproof and nonporous, Uma can be easily cleaned by washing it with soap under running water. You can also wipe the silicone down with a bleach solution for a more thorough cleaning, but I would suggest keeping the bleach away from the metal contacts.

Uma comes with a box that can be used for storage. I keep mine stored in my toybox alongside other silicone toys. You can store silicone toys together, along with other non-reactive toys like plastic or glass. Make sure to store toys made from other soft materials like jelly or TPR separately, because they can melt.

Water-based lube is recommended to be used with silicone toys. If you would like to use a silicone or hybrid lube with a silicone toy, make sure to do a spot test first to check for damage.

Packaging

Uma comes in nice packaging, similar to that of most other luxury toys. There is a white outer box made from cardboard with a picture of the toy and some information. Inside this is a discreet, sturdy, black box, which would be great for storage. The charger and a detailed manual are included.
